What does Sme rodina propose?
Sme rodina (We Are Family) is a political movement founded in 2015 by businessman Boris Kollár, who still leads it. It entered the National Council in 2016, and from 2020 to 2023 it was part of the governments of Igor Matovič and Eduard Heger, with Kollár as Speaker of parliament. In 2023 it won 2.2% and lost its seats; it did not run in the 2024 European elections.
It is in opposition outside parliament, and polls in September and October 2026 put it at 2.0–3.2%. Its programme centres on families and social policy: decent pensions, support for births, state rental housing and help for single mothers, as well as farming and food prices; in 2026 it also calls for lower taxes. In September 2026 it agreed to run in 2027 on a joint list with the team of Richard Sulík, founder of SaS, offering it every second place, and announced it would rename itself ‘Sme rodina a Sulíkovci’.
