In brief

How do Republika and SNS differ?

Republika and SNS are very close in the test, above all on defence, Ukraine and Russia. Both support Slovakia leaving NATO and becoming militarily neutral, and both fully oppose raising defence spending to meet NATO's new target and resuming state military aid to Ukraine. Both fully support lifting EU sanctions on Russia and buying Russian gas and oil after 2027, and fully oppose letting Ukraine join the EU once it meets the conditions. Both also oppose re-establishing the Office of the Special Prosecutor and support stricter state oversight of NGOs funded from abroad. The clearest difference concerns the EU itself: Republika fully supports a referendum on whether to stay in the EU if it does not change fundamentally, and SNS opposes it. Republika also supports tighter abortion rules and opposes easier entry for foreign workers; SNS is neutral on both.

SNS Against
In 2023 it answered that the EU must be reformed rather than left; in 2024 it called for a return to a loose economic community of sovereign states.
