In brief

How do PS and Demokrati differ?

PS and Demokrati are close in the test, especially on the rule of law, Ukraine and the EU. Both fully support re-establishing the Office of the Special Prosecutor, resuming state military aid to Ukraine and letting the EU freeze funds for countries that do not respect the rule of law, and both fully oppose stricter state oversight of NGOs funded from abroad and buying Russian gas and oil after 2027. They part ways mainly on values, taxes and energy. PS supports allowing same-sex couples to register their partnership and banning sales of new petrol and diesel cars from 2035; Demokrati oppose both. Demokrati support cutting the standard VAT rate and a state majority stake in large energy companies, which PS rejects. PS also supports EU foreign policy decisions by majority vote, and Demokrati oppose it.
